19-10 in the regular season opener at Reliant Stadium The win for the
Houston Texans marked the first time an expansion team won their

At the start of the 2005 season, the team’s all-time record
stands
at 16-32-0. Home base for the Houston Texans is the state of the art
Reliant Stadium. This 69,500 seat facility is the first retractable
roof stadium ever built for football. Built in 2002, Reliant Stadium
was elected to host Super Bowl XXXVIII in February 2004
With the NFL Realignment Plan for 2002, the Houston Texans
were
placed in the AFL South Division along with Indianapolis, Jacksonville
and Tennessee. In 2003, the Texans became the first NFL expansion team
to win two consecutive season openers - shocking the heavily-favored
Dolphins 21-20 in Miami on September 7th.
